Religious Angst

After surviving the horrors of combat in Iraq, he returned home consumed by rage, suicidal thoughts, and a deep loss of identity despite having a loving family, successful career, and comfortable life. After years of medications, hospitalizations, and desperate attempts to end his life, he encountered the story of Jesus through Messianic prophecy and finally experienced a peace no medication or therapy had given him. Through faith in Christ, he found a new identity, reconciliation with his children, and a sense of wholeness.

After pursuing happiness through the New Age movement, traveling, and experiences that seemed like they should fulfill her, she still felt empty and restless. After unexpectedly encountering Christians praying in Athens, she began reading a French Bible through the night and became convinced that Jesus was speaking to her and inviting her to follow Him. By morning, she knew God had changed her life.

After befriending Michael, a young man who seemed to possess an unusual wisdom and confidence despite his physical challenges, he was introduced to the idea that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah who had come for all people. As he began wrestling with a powerful presence he couldn't explain, Michael encouraged him to seek Jesus—and he eventually became convinced that he had truly encountered the Messiah.

After discovering an old family Bible as a young teenager, Dean began reading the words of Jesus in the Gospels and was overwhelmed by a powerful sense of God's presence. As he encountered the love of God and the possibility of a personal relationship with Him for the first time, the experience became a life-changing divine encounter.

After growing up with little connection to God and believing he didn't need Him, Shawn found himself facing the heartbreak of divorce and the possible end of his marriage. An unexpected visit from church members who prayed for reconciliation became a powerful turning point, and a later encounter with the story of Jesus brought him to tears as he cried out to God for the first time. Through the brokenness of his marriage, God began to humble his heart and draw him toward faith.
